Presenting the “Horus Table Lamp” by Eichholtz, inspired by a commanding statue of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II (360–343 B.C.) in The Met’s Egyptian art collection. This lamp pays tribute to the pharaoh’s deep connection with Horus, the falcon god of kingship. Their association even gave rise to a cult, in which he was referred to as “Nectanebo-the-Falcon.” This regal lamp, which boasts a copper-bronze finish and a linen-mix shade cafted in the Netherlands, stands at a height of 90 cm., with a maximum width of 50 cm.
